Tips For Caring For Your Skin After Wearing A Face Covering All Day

Since we have all started wearing a face covering has your skin been getting irritated? Breaking out? Bruised? Sore behind your ears? All the above? Yes.

Face coverings make it hard to breathe. They’re tight, they can cause abrasions, and redness. There isn’t any circulation happening in there, so not a good concoction for your skin. Especially if you are already dealing with rosacea and acne.

If your skin is acne prone you might want to even use a product like a toner throughout the day; you should try Bioelements Acne Toner. It’s a 0.5% salicylic acid acne treatment toner that’s designed to restore the balance of acneic skin, as it hydrates, and keeps skin clear of new acne pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. And it’s dermatologist and clinically tested to be non-irritating. So this will be perfect to keeping that area clear from mask acne aka “maskne”. Getting regular facials once a month will keep the rest of those pesky breakouts at bay. You can Book one here.

A few other things that can help you avoid breakouts and irritated skin:

  • Washing your pillowcase
  • Do not touch your face
  • Use an antibacterial ointment or spot treatment
  • Use a 100% cotton mask (make sure you are washing it)
  • Use a disposable mask (and actually using a new one everyday)
  • Going makeup free

Speaking of makeup. Why even wear it? No one can really see it. And it ends up all over your mask. I suggest just keeping it simple with and eyebrow gel, and mascara. LET YOUR SKIN BREATHE.

Cold Roll Or Use An Ice Cube To Soothe

When wearing an N95 mask those can be super irritating and not fun. They are so tight that they can leave bruising on your skin. Just be gentle with your skin care routine and maybe try some cold rolling or if you don’t have a cold roller simply just ice the irritated area. That’ll make it feel so much better.

Cleanse, Cleanse & Cleanse Again

Now it’s the end of the night and you need something that’s going to get all that gunk off from during the day and keep your skin hydrated and refreshed? I got the cleanser for you…Bioelements Urban Undo. Urban Undo Cleanser is a deep purging formula that’s been designed to be used only at night to undo the damage caused by the invisible air pollutants your skin comes in contact with on a daily basis. It’s a great weekly “cleansing purge” option for skin (just like a clarifying shampoo) to incorporate into any at-home agenda
